any folders with a fully convexed blade?

I only own a few knives with true full convexed blades and edges, but the more I use them the more I love them.

My most recent is the Bark River Bravo Necker, I REALY like this little blade, and the fact that it is only about 2.5" long makes me think this same blade would also make a great folder. But I can't recall having seen any folding knives that are truely convexed from near the spine all the way to the edge.

Does anyone make such a knife?

None that I'm personally aware of, but I convex most of mine after the fact.

yeah, I've been convexing the edges on most of my blades lately too. But there's something about a true full convex blade that I'm just loving right now. I seem to be able to reach a leavel of sharpness and cutting abillity that I just don't quite get with other blades. :) And I wish I could have this feature in an EDC folder.

I thought convexed edges were supposed to have a lot of metal behind the edge and therefore stronger.

Why would this make for a sharper knife? Does the actual geometry of the grind make it cut like it is sharper? Or is it easier to sharpen?

I would think that a thin blade would seem sharper. Right now I am being wowed by my flat ground M4 Benchmade Rift that I put an 11 deg edge on (assuming I calculated right with my micrometer). I have been slicing up things today and it really seems to cut.

I have never experienced a convex edge other than knives I have hand sharpened over time that have become convex looking. They don't seem that impressive compared to this nice crisp low angle V-grind (is that the right term?).

Just wondering.

They do have more metal behind the edge than a V-grind, but angle is always a factor.

Not always a sharper knife but usually just as sharp or very close to. Yes the geometry makes it cut like a sharper knife and even when dull they still cut well simply because of the geometry, imagine the two grinds in a wind tunnel. Easier to sharpen is all in perspective.

A convex edge and a full convex blade are very different.

Fallkniven. Haven't looked at them in a while but my U2 is convex and believe all the rest of their folders are too. Very sharp out of the box.

opinel is convex, i have my no 8 right here. however they have a v ground edge, however, they are very easy to convert to convex edge (i was able to do it, should mean anyone can).

Maybe it's just the olde ones then. I have an older one at home and I gave one away last year that were definately full flat grinds, in fact they were zero-ground like a scandi.

I have heard rumors of Bark River coming out with a titanium frame lock, I dont know the exact specs but i would imagine its going to be convex

I checked out the Fallkniven folders some are very nice but they are listed as being flat ground.

I think I will wait and see about the upcomeing Bark River folder, looks to be a sweet knife and I hope that it gets the same convex geometry that their fixed blades have!

You may be right and I was confusing the blade with their F1 fixed blade that I have, which is a convex blade!
