Greetings,

I'm thinking of taking up this activity a little bit as something of a 'family scavenger hunt' for weekends and such.

Anybody here play?

My family thoroughly enjoys it. It's fun when we are traveling, as there is always something to do when we "get there".

Some of the caches are very well done, and lead you to some cool places you'd otherwise never see.

We like doing the "trackables" to see where they go after we're done moving them.

Get a GPS that has geocaching capability. Not necessary, but makes things simpler.

It's a great way to take the dog for a walk. I recommend it to my students as a way to learn how to use and get used to a new GPS.

I have wandered across at least 4 geocaches in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. I always sign them cj65. I never was looking for them. I did not know what they were at first, now I keep an eye out on any trail. Fun stuff!
