I was looking for a rainbow color knife like the Kershaw Leek Rainbow when I found this knife. I’m wondering if the Boker Magnum Rainbow II (see link) is any good. http://www.2sharp.nl/artikel/BO-01YA107?lang=nl&returnto=lasturl

It’s a lovely color but can it be compared with a Byrd knife in fit-and-finish? Is there any blade play to be expected and will the lock hold?

It will not be used heavily, just a nice knife to have and EDC a bit.

We have these in my store. They're good if you're looking for a pretty little knife. There is some blade play, and I assume they will loosen up further over time. I've never been terribly impressed by it, to be honest.

well i haven't played with that model, but i own and have played with more than a few boker magnum lines. they are what they are. low dollar/budget asian made knives. good enough for the average person, won't impress too many here on these forums. if you are looking for a rainbow kershaw leek/chive/etc. type quality for a budget price, you aren't going to be satisfied, i wouldn't think? what do i know though everyone is different.

if you want a low cost knife that will work but isn't super in the fit and finish category, uses an entry level at best steel (440a) you should be satisifed enough as no boker has ever let me down as long as my expectations fit what i was actually buying. hope that helps?

So it is more like a pretty toy than a nice knife. I the kind of person who wants the real deal when I liked my toys. Will probably buy the kershaw leek rainbow after all. tanks fellers
