I have some Kris Cutlery swords. One is a Fillipino sword called a pinuti (not sure now about the spelling). I like the sword. It is light and attractive, and I don't think it is a wallhanger. However, I have not done any cutting with it, so I can't honestly attest to its abilities.
Kris Cutlery does have a good reputation, though. I can't remember ever having seen a negative review of their products.
My pinuti does have one aspect that makes me a bit nervous. There is only one small pin through the wooden handle. I have been told that there is plenty of glue inside the handle, securing it to the tang. Maybe the single pin is adequate, but since it has always sit in my closet, I can't attest to that.
