any good how to's on sharpening a katana?

Well, first thing to look into is the authenticity. All Paul Chen katanas I have ever seen have come sharpened.
 
Seconded, some 'seconds' come with a dull edge.

Sharpening a katana, touch ups, are easy...just use a stropping motion on fine stones. But reprofiling is a difficult task to do traditionally...a good repolish will cost you upwards of 1000$....
