Any Good Khukri Videos?

I have been looking through YouTube Videos forever looking to find videos that shows off if the Khukri is really as versatile as everyone says it is.

With that in mind, does anyone know of any videos that show them doing multiple tasks?

I have found TONS of videos but they generally fall in to one of these categories:

1) In the house. Useless :) I don't want to see people talking about them, I want some action! :)

2) Painfully chopping through one log. If it is a chopper, you would be able to do a lot of sections in a reasonable amount of time. Instead, I have seen a lot of videos, doing one section, with little dinky chips, and most with very poor technique. These ones don't seem to sell the idea of a Khukri very well :)

3) Only a single task. I found one good video, doing some decent splitting. It didn't do much to show off the versatility though.

If you guys know of any cool videos, let me know.

If not, and you own one, let me know what you like about it and what you like to use it for.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Brian, there is a video on Youtube or there was, that featured someone using their H.I. Ang Khola [At least, I think it was that model] in the Kitchen. It Fillet fish, chop veggies and all sorts of tasks really well. :)

I have a few Khukri's from H.I. My 20" Sirupati "Lisa", is my most used Khukri. She weights in at 24 onces and has a wood handle. I've used her to Chop wood, clear trails, blaze trails, debark knives [draw knife], cut up large mellons, weed wack the yard, trim trees, trim bushes, Fight evil Cardboard boxes, cut up old wood for the burn pile and so on. . . .

I have to admit....that is impressive. Not that such a big tool did that, but one that is so thick.

Still.....keep the stuff coming guys. This could be some good stuff. I am still looking for some quality stuff on what the khukri is supposed to do well. Not chop a single dead log......but I would like to see someone do a long task start to finish....and then fillet a fish :)

If this stuff isn't out there, it isn't :) I just thought someone might know of something since I have not been able to find it.

Thanks guys,
Brian

I have a cold steel khukri machete that I take with me on all my camping, hiking, mountaineering & hunting trips. I love it and I actually think its way better then a hatchet, which I've stopped carrying since getting the khukri. I've used it to clear trails when bush whacking, to cut decent sized trees down to make lean-tos and hunting blinds, for splitting wood for fires, I've also used it to shave down some bigger logs and make a spear for fishing, a axe handle, and even a wooden spoon. There's so many other things I've used it for that I'm not naming or that I've just forgotten but they are great. I can't speak for smaller khukri knives as I've only used the machetes, but I've used both sizes that cold steel makes, and I'm also hoping to grab the two handed one soon, that thing can probably chop threw a oak tree with one swing. They are def a great design especially for chopping, they are supposed to chop as good or better then a regular blade double the length which is pretty cool. The Gurkhas def did some damage with them. Hope I helped out a little
