Any Good Knife Shops in GA?

I live in the part of GA that used to be Alpharetta.

Did they change the name of Alpharetta?

That question has been posed a couple of times in the Georgia Blade Social Group here.

Pretty surprising in a metro area this populated there really don't seem to be any of real note. At least we have the Blade show each year.

I'm in Athens and can't seem to find one here either. Clyde's Armory sells Benchmades for a decent price, but they are usually low on stock. Franklin's gun shop has a fair selection, but seem a bit high sometimes. I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be to open a knife store here, but halfway into my retirement as a teacher and 3 kids, I can't afford a risky business venture.

My understanding is that they changed the name of it to John's Creek. Either that or they made John's Creek it's own city. I've never understood the change.

Gotcha. They created John's Creek in 06. I think before that it was just part of Fulton County, generally sort of associated with Alpharetta. I'm in the Doraville area.

If you find any good knife stores, hope you will let us/me know. I've found it fairly frustrating. In a lot of cases, I wouldn't even mind paying retail if I could actually handle the product before buying.
I looked at Bass Pro Shops, and they have a decent selection of middle range stuff, but almost everything is in blister packs.
There are Gun and Knife shows fairly frequently in Cobb and Gwinnett and they usually have a decent variety of knives, even some custom makers...at least at the Gwinnett show.

There is the West Georgia Flee market. Has several dealers every weekend. Some have very large selections of the better brands. I have bought several from there.
