As the title says, I live in Tuscarawas county Ohio, so eastern central area of the state, any knife shows with a good traditional presence nearby? Even parts of Pennsylvania is close enough if worth a visit.

Also, anyone know of any shops within reasonable driving distance I should check out?

No shops that I'm aware of but there are plenty of goldmine antique shops in that whole area.
I used to live in Wayne County and we'd spend a Saturday hitting up different spots many in Tuscarawas County, I recall a few cool ones around the Strasberg and Dover area. There was also a really interesting traditional tool shop in Millersburg, with an attached high end America antique and art gallery (which included some nice fixed blades) and at the time they were working on a lot of traditional workshop across the street in various trades, including blacksmithing and knife making.
Doesn't the Warther Museum sell/make knives, too?

Yes, the warther museum is still up and running, they seem to be all kitchen knives from what I have seen of their wares at a shop in Sugarcreek. I work about half a mile from the museum, I must stop by sometime.

I recently saw a video of the current head family member of the museum carving a set of wooden pliers out of one piece of wood (the ones they sell there) and I couldn't really see the brand of knife we was working with but it was a slip joint and seemed like a GEC. (not that they sell slip joints there, but if anyone in the area does, you might chat them up about it). Otherwise, Ohio has a lot of dealers, but most seem to be internet only and operating out of their homes.
I'm currently in Cbus so I at least have River's Edge Cutlery if I really need to see something in person.

When I lived in Columbus, I loved Rivers Edge, was going there back before they got big and moved to a larger shop. I miss the older days there, nearly everytime I went in I would primarily deal with Brian, I recall when he had his first child. But now I go in and don’t recognize the crew and they have somewhat lost that intimate feeling they used to have. Still a great knife shop however.

Rivers Edge has great inventory, cool vibe, good people, but unless it’s something special I never buy there because it’s all MSRP or MAP which does nothing for me on top of state sales tax. I can find what they have all day online and pay the sales tax on my Ohio 1040-IT :)

I have found some nice consignment deals, or unique pieces.

Is it open to general public or members only? Either way, I will be there.

Our local Northeast Ohio knife club, the Western Reserve Cutlery Assiciation, will hold its annual knife show at the Massillon Knights of Columbus hall on May 20 and 21st. It’s always a good quality, pretty well attended show.
sounds fun. I may stop by as well…although I’ll be saving for Blade ATL June 3/4. 😂

Don’t have to buy anything at a show, but you sure can coon finger a bunch and meet some fellow local knife enthusiasts.

The folks at LT Wright's place are always welcoming. Just give em a call first.

Funny you mention that, I was perusing that sight recently after learning they are nearby, found their podcast that I have been listening to and I’m considering taking the knife making class they offer.

Seen their knives in person many places before but never realized how close they were to me until the other day, they seem like genuinely good folks.

Fantastic, I’ll try to remember that. My wife used to work at the Massillon Museum and we get up there multiple times a year .

Yes, it’s open to the public. I think it will be $5 admission. They have food and refreshments on site. Hope you can make it.
