I'm just starting out learning about knives. Can anybody reccomend any good books, magazines or websites?

this one. do yourself a favor, and read, read, read. Then, search, search, search. Then ask whatever youlike. :D Welcome to BF!

This site is the best resorce you are going to find when it comes to info on knives.

As far as mags go, I get Blade, and it is pretty decent.

First off welcome to BF. As mentioned above, search is yoru friend. Use it well;)

Blade Mag is good, so is Tactical Knives. Both can be found @ your local book store.

The Case Cutlery Dynasty Tested XX, by Brad Lockwood, great knife history here.
The Wonder of Knifemaking, by Wayne Goddard. you don't have to want to make knives to appreciate this book.

Take a look at knifeworld books and paladin press. The combined printed material they have on knives will definately change your mind set on knives as a whole.

Look for knives 2006 or earlier. Ther are annual publications that have some great articles and illustrations.

for magazines, tactical knives is pretty good, and blade magazine only slightly lesser. keep in mind they get paid to review knives and have articles on them. Bladeforums is probably your best resource around.

I have word that Knives Illustrated is being rejuvenated by new management. I hope they return to their roots as a custom knife magazine instead of trying to be a copy of Blade magazine.

The Practical Book of Knives, Ken Warner, Stoeger Publishing, 1976.
