Looking at pulling the trigger on a Brown Berry Worn Worm Groove Schatt & Morgan Stockman Sowbelly. Slanted and pinched bolsters, and cool scales make me happy, the 420HC I'm not to thrilled about but it would be fine for a light duty user.

Before I do, should I know about any other production Sowbellys that may be better? Carbon is best but stainless is also OK.

Much thanks in advance! :)

Moore Maker builds a five-blade in 1095. I've never owned one, so I can't vouch for the quality.

Funny you mention it; I'm carrying mine this week. I'm fine with Queen's 420HC, plus this knife's blades were not in need of reprofiling!

I'm pretty sure there is a sowbelly in the newly released Schatt & Morgan series, too.

Well there you go making things hard again :grumpy:

:D

I was all set to go with the three blade stockman Winchester in 1095, maybe both is a better option? :D

FWIW, I have one of the S&M sowbellies in brown berry wormgroove as well, and it is excellent. It's one of the nicer slipjoints in my collection. It's a nice pattern, and very well executed by Queen/ S&M. Mine has seen a good amount of pocket time, and I have had no issues with the blade steel. The blades hold their edges just fine.
