I am looking to get one for a gift, and would like to get something new. Hoping to keep cost under $200. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have a look at the Taylor's Eye Witness Premium line

Checked them out on some UK sites, but they are asking very high shipping fees. Are there any sources in the USA? Thanks!

I was never able to find any source for them in the U.S.A. , but that was in 2014. At that time , they did not charge me the VAT though . I considered them high priced but worth it after I got the first one . I then ordered another one . Send me an E-mail if you want the name of who I ordered from .

Sadly I found the qc on The knives I bought to be hit and miss. For what it's worth my advice would be to examine before buying.

Yep, the details of buying knives are best discussed by PM as per the forum guidelines

Thanks for the input, sounds like one should examine in person. Will look for something else for gift giving on this occasion.

TEW seems to be pretty consistent, but Arthur Wright's, I've found you need to buy in person
