Bought a couple of Rough Ryders from Smoky Mountain just for kicks.
One of these, the big one with wood handles, is a flipper. After playing
around with it I find I really like a flipper knife. Best I can find online is
the CRKT Flipper by Jim Hammond...which looks great to me. But now,
I got the "get better quality disease" that I caught here :D . Are there
any good Flippers out there made with better steel?

CRKT M1 and M16 EDC are flippers in AUS 8. Xikar Extreme can also be flipped, some unfamiliar European steel.

An M16 was my first knife. After flipping for a few weeks the linerlock is now useless. I can easily close the blade with the lock engaged. I suggest getting something like a Kershaw Chive. Its small, but it has an assisted flipper and a framelock that won't break nearly as quickly as a linerlock.

The Camillus Dominator AG Russell non asisted has the flipper features. Titanium handle slabs, framelock and s30v blade clip point. What more do you want? Longer blade than 3.5", How about the Camillus Maxx? Ti handle slabs framelock and D2 blade of 5.5".

Yes! The Camillus Dominator in S30V steel looks good.
I'll search and see if I can find a better price on it tonight.
I couldn't find any flippers better than AUS6-8 and am
glad to see there are better ones available. Thanks!

Kershaw Chive has a flipper? I'll have to check it out too.

Xikar Extreme? This is a flipper? Like the price but
not the blade style. Wonder why they don't mention
that feature. On my RR Flipper they didn't mention it
either and only showed a pic with blade open. I didn't
know it was a flipper until I received it.

Again, thanks!

Many of Kershaw's Ken Onion Speedsafe knives have flippers (but not all of them). Push the flipper and the torsion bar does the rest of the work. Boa, Chive, Leek, Scallion, Bump, and Whisper all have flippers. The Boa, Whisper, and Bump are the "better quality" ones.

Make sure your state doesn't consider them switchblades before (if) you get one

What price range are you looking for? If it is under $100 then you need to check out the Camillus HEAT or the CRKT offerings. If it is $100+ then the Kershaw Bump and the Camillus Dominator come into play.

Thanks for all the tips.
Even after looking at all these flippers with better steel,
I decided to go ahead and order a CRKT Jim Hammond
Cruiser with plain edge. It just seems to be more to my
liking even though it's AUS6. And it was the only one
that also has LAWKS. This will be my first knife with
LAWKS...first one I ever even handled...sounds cool
though. I hope I receive it by the 4th so I can flipper
it at my sausage links. :p
