Guitars, I mean.

Trying to find the name of this guitar. Its the guitar in the pic on the bottom of this page marked RS Discography. It looks like a slim Les Paul with sharp edges and wider.

And if anyone has played one hows it play/feel?

It doesn't look l.ike anything on the current model line.

Wish I could help but if it ain't Billy Gibbon's(ZZ TOP)amazing Gretsch or a WHITE FALCON I can't help. They do have a great sound and with the right musician are really awesome sounding.

I thought it looked like a 70's Chet Atkins model, but couldn't find a pc on the net to back me up...

Yeah, now all you have to do is PLAY like Chet Atkins, and you'll forget all about Rick Springfield.

If I could play like Chet would it really matter what guitar I had?;)

Gretsch don't run cheap, and you don't see many used ones for sale. Good guitars by most accounts. I'd love a Brian Setzer model, or I'd just take being able to play like him. I end up more in the Malcom Young end of the scale, but he is a Gretsch player too.

I've heard mixed things about them. The old ones were made by piecework; their quality varies greatly. I could swear that Gretch os owned/made by someone else now, Like fender. I can't remember, or maybe I'm thinking of Guild. I did miss out on one Gretch, that if I come across again, I would snatch up in a minute-it had 2 humbuckers, and a switch to make them into single coils individually. I own a Fender squire that does the same thing, but with way crappier electronics.

Edited to add: Danny gatton had a series out on vhs-and he's amazing, or was-He killed himself a few years ago, great loss.. :(

Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan both,IMO,the most underrated guitar players in recent American electric guitar history. Both were contemporaries vieing for reigning Washington D.C. guitar God,both suicides.Seems like it's either booze and drugs, aircraft disasters or suicide that claims are most incredibly talented guitarists.

Heres a couple of my Matons - Australian made guitars and a real pleasure to play. The electric plays and sounds a lot like the older Les Pauls.

Two fine looking guitars.Matons.Never heard of them before.Pricey? The Les Pauly electric kinda' reminds me of Brian May's #1.Cool.

Sign me up for a WHITE FALCON...eventually. Epiphone copy of a Gibson 335 for now and for unplugged an Ovation 1994 edition and a Taylor 910. Now if I could only play the dang things like they were meant to be.

How do you like the taylor? I've been eyeing them for a while, but they're a little expensive now. I've stayed away from Gibson Acoustics in the past because they're a little bass heavy, and I prefer a brighter, midrangier sound-whaere do the taylors fit in there?

Dijos,
I pulled out the 910 today and verified it sounds fantastic. It is a dreadnought so it does have some punch to it bass wise. I can't say that I have messed around with any Gibson acoustics other than the Jumbos which are very bass heavy.
Taylors sound great across the range. You might be more interested in one of the grand concerts or grand auditorium bodies for really awsome midrange. Taylors sound pretty consistent through all the different price points. Their 300 series sound way better than they should for the price.

I wouldn't kick a nice Martin D45 out of bed though.
