I'd really like to purchase 2 or 3 nicely made khukuri stands. Nothing fancy, I want the khukuri to stand out. ;) Pretty wood, and can hold two knives, or the khukuri and the scabbard. I would venture to say that other forumites who don't have the proper tools to make their own would also be interested...

Actually, I could try my hand at a real one. I'll see what kind of wood I can scrounge up and get back to you.

Please do, Roadrunner... Post the pic of your prototype! :)

Can always use fancy wakisashi stands (small katanas). I know a few who have done this and it looks good.

How's this? Unique at least!

You need this!

Stands are on my list to make when the garage gets organized. Sheaths too hopefully.

My daughter and her new husband have moved out of my upstairs so I finally get MY room back. :D

My plan is to setup a "knife display" as I'm starting to accumulate lots and lots of knives. Of all different types, shapes & kinds. I sure don't know how that happened ;)

I want to make several different types of stands, each one unique I hope.

but I did come up with one I think is simple. Its not fancy. I actually got the idea from a 2 piece plexiglass pocetknife stand (so I'm not claiming I invented it)

I enlarged it to where I believe it will hold a khukuri size knife. The beauty of it is that you can make it from 1/4" plywood (or any size), gang cut several pieces so you can make stands for 2 or 3 knives at a time and paint/stain them any color you want. They also come apart so you can store them flat

If anyones interested, Let me know and I'll try and post some pictures.

May be me, as I'm extremely out of it today, but can't get tha tlink to wwork Bruise.

But yeah, if someone posts some pictures, sure one of us can come up with something. And as long as it's not complicated, the only difference between cheap and expensive models of the stand would be the wood used. As I can't relaly think of any simple stand that'd take much work, so no real charge for labor, just a matter of what wood you want it made from.

This is what I get from Bruise's link:

Pac-Man...!!

:o

I didn't link to that. My link was a picture of a Home Depot bucket.

My apologies to wood stove handle collectors. :(

Bruise offers a novel way to display khukuries. I personally would prefer the options of ordering in more colors and at least a handle considering his exhorbitant prices... :D
