I took (and passed) my Technician exam a week ago, so should be getting my call sign any day now. I'm studying for my General now. Be cool to hook up with some knifemakers (or collectors) on the air...
 
Congrats; Im also a ham but I havent been on in quite a few years. Im extra class, did a lot of 2m ssb stuff when I was into it, lots of fun just too many hobbies ...
 
I am a technican KD5PWF. I haven't been on in a good while either. Mostly use 2m 70cm in the truck.
 
I am not a ham, but my grandfather (W7BKR, Advanced Class) was and I have many fond memories hanging out with him in his radio shack. He had a 40' cubical quad on about a 150' tower up in Ranchester, WY and he had worked every country with operating stations at that time (late 60s). -Doug

Congratulations on taking/passing your Technician exam! I passed the Technician exam this past Saturday. No expectations of receiving my call sign in the near future, as some local Country has shut down and taken the FCC with it.

I'm not a knifemaker, but wanted to say hi to a fellow *new* ham.

It still survives, but the internet and wireless phones have taken a toll.

I was very active from 1989 until my hearing deteriorated around 2000 and it became difficult to understand what was being said even with a hearing aid.
For awhile I enjoyed 2M packet, but that went south too. I sold all my gear except for a radio Shack 2M HT.

I still have my license. KK6GV

Congratulations! My grandfather was VE1HK, and although I never took up his love of HAM (when he died the equipment went to the local club, I was too young to operate it sadly), I do have the callsign as a tattoo
