One of my other interests is radio. I am trying to find schematics etc for a really good AM broadcast band receiver. I've looked on a lot of the radio websites but haven't found the right one yet. Any suggestions?

You could get onto www.eham.net and ask the question that would be more efficient.There are some neat designs for crystal radios if you don't want to use power. www.ac6v.com/kits.htm
