Any "hands on" thought on standard vs magnum slabs?

I have been dying to know this. I ordered not really having this question answered. I would love to know about everyone's thought's on the different handles on both standard FSH and HO Grade!

Thanks in advance and keep those pics coming!!!

When I get my HOGFSH, I will let you know how the mag slabs compare to the regular ones on my FSH proto.

I didn't like the standard handles I got on the FSH as much as the magnum ones I felt on the FBM protos Jerry had at the hog induction. However, he said that magnum handles on the 5/16" HOFSH make the handle really big. I ordered just the standard handles on my HOFSHs so hopefully that will be good. I use large gloves.

My HOGFSH should be like a brick then. :)

I can't wait to see what the HOGFSH feels like with the Magnums! I really like how the fit on the standard thickness blades:cool:

Haven't handled any, but from the pics, the Magnums remind me of the heavily contured smooth grips found on chunky or fat straight handles with the smooth bolts. Really thick and really contured. Less so on the slotted bolts and less again with the tube fasteners.

Anybody else out there with A2 or early INFI fatties notice this?

They feel like they were made for my hand. I MUCH prefer the contured to the flat slabs.

Looks like Jerry went Back to the Future with the Magnum grips.

Good!

Yeah, I was hoping the thickness of the HO stock would make the standard handles just right. I ordered magnum's on my SFNO and ended up filing them down to very near standard dimensions. I think I will be fine with the standards on the HO I ordered but It was really tempting to go with magnums, especially since I see this knife getting a LOT more hard use.

I've only handled the standard so far, hopefully I'll get a chance to hold the magnum this weekend :D

The Magnum handles feel great!!! The blade on mine is 5/16", a real BEAST!!! With the Magnum slabs, I love it, but I have large hands. Someone with a small hand may find it too thick. HERE ARE SOME COMPARISON PHOTOS!

thats a really sweet blade you have ronybear

In my medium to small hands (with thin fingers) the standard scales are just smaller than I think would be ideal on my FSH. On the thicker steel I think standard scales would be perfect for me.

I can only speak from my NO with magnum handles, but I really prefer them to the standard.

My new SH will have the magnum handles so I’m looking forward to its arrival. :D

I’m also in the big paw category. ;):D
Ian.

Awesome LE! That's the first one we've seen here, I think  I can't wait for mine to get in!

Oh dear lord!!!!! Now THAT is beautiful. Those pics are fantastic, I'm telling ya spine shots are the ones that can really sell a thick knife....at least for me.

just me? or does that somehow sound perverse?

Nah... I'd have to agree with Nemmie. When you see how thick the knife truly is.....

Exactly. Different shots sell different knives. Side profiles are great for artistic knives. When you're dealing with a fattie, a spine shot says it all.
