any hardcore hamburger junkies?

I love hamburgers. But I'm on Atkins. no bun! argh :)
My all time fave was a burger with mushrooms and swiss on an English muffin.
Not a fan of bacon on the burger- the meat should taste good enough to not need bacon on it!

Burgers are one of my favorite foods. 90% of the time when I go to a restaurant I get a bacon cheeseburger. My favorite is from Friday's.

I think bacon complements a burger really well, but I use the same logic with ketchup. I don't put ketchup or mustard on a good burger because it just drowns out that great meat taste.

At present, I don't like any commercial burgers better than my own, which are quite simple.
I use ground chuck, liberally seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic. I don't fry it to death. We like to use a white cheese like brick, and add a couple of slices of bacon and avocado.
Not reccomended by your heart specialist....

I myself need at least 2 a day. Whats your all time favorite burger?

I do enjoy a patty melt every now and again. When I was a waiter at the Ground Round, we employees made a burger like you would a Ruben sandwich with Kraut and swiss on grilled rye with russian dressing.

Here I am about to have a bowl of beef stew and that line got me drooling so bad ... :D

Great suggestion. I think I may try one tomorrow. Thank you!

Damn you got me hungry again !

It has been awhile since I've eaten a burger. Funnily enough, when I was chowing down on plain wholemeal bread today (I eat a loaf a day, trying to gain weight), I did get the craving for mcdonalds or hungry jacks (burger king as it is known in the US)

I really hate it when places put ketchup on top of tomato.
What's the point there?
Although I really like Mayo, Mustard (the yellow kind) Tomato, lettuce, and RED onions (the good kind, Vandalia) on a burger. Just enough fixuns, minus the sloppiness. and hold the pickles, and finely chopped up white onions (yuck....)

Yeah, I was very particular about making my burgers. :)
bun, mayo, tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese, burger, ketchup, bun in that order! yum.

My fav is a bacon cheeseburger with cheddar and pepper jack cheese , BBQ sauce instead of the usual ketchup and mustard, fresh spinach, tomato. Maybe some Mirical Whip on the top bun - and the buns need to be toasted with butter.

We make our own ground venison every year. The grind is mixed with beef tallow. Better than plain old beef IMHO.

I worked in a place for a while that did a burger like that- good stuff- it was my 'go to' shift meal.

My current fave is a burger called the "Cape Henry" from Kelly's here in Norfolk- It's a big burger topped w/ a crabcake & then smothered in Cheddar. Add fries. I need to go easy on those.
