Any help from Kershaw on this ?

As per a poster in the Buck forum this bill died and did get presented for a vote. That is the good news. The bad news is NO ONE person commented on this post in this Kershaw forum ?!?! Kershaw is the company that makes more models of AOs than anyone. I don't get it ? No ones cares ? I know several Mafia faces have been displayed as logos lately, but come on do you really want all the collectors in one state to become criminals !? ( that last line is a bit of a joke but this is a serious issue)....

A bunch of us commented on it, but in the proper forum (Knife Laws). At least two threads. A bunch of us don't necessarily telegraph on a forum what we are doing every time we email a government representative, either.

However, turns out this is old news and the bill will not be introduced in the future, so it's a non-starter.

From an email I received from Jil Tracy's Office yesterday:

-----------------
Thanks for your contact. We were trying to address a law enforcement concern but have realized the bill was too broad. I did not move the bill forward nor do I intend to. Jil Tracy

Fear not, the Kershaw forum is ever vigilant.

Hi tom

Look, there are a few subjects I'm just not going public with (for the most part). Knife laws is one of them (Warranty is the other in case anyone is interested).

We're active with the AKTI, heck Jeff (Kai USA Director) is the Vice President. AKTI has spoken at length with Jill on this whole Bill. It's been dead for a little while now.

Kai USA spends more money on education and court cases than any other manufacturer out there. Of course we care. Just because I don't air it here on BF's doesn't mean we're not working hard on keeping our knife freedoms from being taken away from us.

Thanks Thomas !! I was posting this since I had read it in the knife law section, after reading about the Texas court ruling classifying them as switchblades. I have many, many Kershaw knives and I did not want to see these go the way of the 1958 ban just because no one spoke up !!! I have faith in Kershaw ( I have spent over $5,000 on your products in the last 5 years), so I just wanted to be sure someone was stopping this law while is was a still just a bill not passed into law yet ....Thanks Again !!!!
