I recently bought 3 Traditional style hunting knives branded "Hiro" and "Seki City/Japan".
I don't know if these are strictly production or partly hand built, but they are of Custom quality. The design and workmanship exceeds some of my Customs and the edges are perhaps even sharper than my Menefees, Dowells or Halfrich knives. That is really saying something ! The steel in the first 2 is G2 Stainless and the 3rd is ATS-34. I know nothing about G2 except that it's possible to get it 'stupid scary sharp'.
First up is a 7 1/4" Hunter. I think this is the ideal blade profile for field dressing deer or elk and is just the right size. There is no need for a bigger blade and a smaller blade like this is easier to position right when your arm is deep inside the body cavity.

Next is a beautiful matching LB folder, 3 3/4" closed, with a 2 5/8" blade.

The 3rd one i just received from a well known knife dealer, a 7 3/4" Semi Skinner with Micarta handles and ATS-34 steel. Not quite as attractive as the first 2, and very sharp, but not quite as stupid scary sharp as the others.

And all 3 together:

I'd like to see other Hiro Traditional style knives so please post pics if you have some.
I'd also like to learn about the Hiro branding. Is it the name of the knifemaker or a company, or both ? I'll be interested in any information at all about Hiro and Hiro knives.

Great looking knives - personally I really like the look of the semi skinner with the micarta handles...

At least to my knowledge, Seki City has always been associated with quality knives. I really like the semi-skinner too.

Nice trio there Roland, I like that hunter/ folder set...nice looking-they look ready for work!, the semi skinner looks great as well, are you going to use these?

The Lockback and the Semi-Skinner are both remarkable, they speak quality and their designs look very Traditional Japanese.

The Japanese knives I have, Moki and another non Traditional brand, are really highly finished knives, no compromises there and these look the same.

Very nice knives. I am also quite curious about this brand. Any guess in regard to date of manufacture?
