Any hope for a lefty Military Sprint?

I was using right handed versions for work, but having to carry them on the wrong side meant the hardened steel blade was rubbing on equipment, and obviously damaging it. I bought a lefty Mili and I'm hooked. Also, after seeing Spyderco's involvement in using this forum for active feedback/ideas/criticism, I thought I'd just throw a bone out there that...

PLEEEEEASE produce a lefty Military sprint run in any super steel. Handle color makes no difference to me :) From the item description we're only a 10% group, but lefties can be a very whiny ten percent!

:D

I, too, would love to see a sprint run lefty Military in a "super steel". When I finally picked one up I quickly realized why everyone raves about the knife; it has even made me change my mind about liner locks. Maybe it has something to do with it finally making sense when it's put on the "right" side!

I tried the Gayle Bradley, but I just can't get over the lock being on the wrong side. I'm probably going to have to trade it off.

My vote for steel choice would be CTS-XHP or CTS-20CP, or ELMAX (thanks knifeknut)

If we were going to be more realistic than just idly wishing for a super steel lefty sprint run, it might be a good idea to try and put together a list of people who would be willing to put money down towards ordering a sprint run. Maybe a small batch of 400-600 knives would be feasible.

A lefty framelock with some ELMAX blade steel and the gunner grip treatment to each side... My days of searching for the perfect folder would be over.

Yeah!!!! ill be so down for getting one of those! I love carrying spydercos lefty. how much better if it were in a super steel like my para 2 S90V????

Let us know what the crew says sal!

Thanks

Oh man I just ordered an s30v lefty military and it arrives tomorrow. I'd love to get one in s90v, m390 or some other higher end steel too. It sucks that so many knives aren't lefty friendly.

I thought the Para 2 was lefty. That's how I carry mine. I've never gotten used to the compression lock, but I find it a lot easier to operate left handed than right handed, and I'm not a lefty.

Although the lock is positioned in a way that makes it accessible to the thumb on the left hand, the way you have to hold it to depress the tab - while simultaneously keeping your fingers out of the path of the blade - makes the knife easy to drop. I'd usually turn it upside down and use the index finger on my left hand to close the knife. It works much easier for right-handed users, as the lock is oriented to allow for that type of closing without inverting the knife.

I'll bring it up to the crew.

Sal, I wait with bated breath. The knife companies who will cater to lefties are few and far in between--thanks so much for making a left-handed Military, as well as taking a left handed super steel version into consideration.
