Any horizontal carry sheaths for an F1??

i was between 2 knives for my new hiking/camping/survival knife. the Rat Cutlery RC-4 and the Fallkniven F1. i was pretty set on the F1 from the beginning but one thing in the RC's favor was the sheath. i very much prefer a horizontal carry.

well, i ordered the F1 this evening. (with the Zytel sheath) i'm not 100% but i'm pretty sure you can't sling that sheath horizontal, correct?

is there a horizontal sheath already made that will accept the F1? i just saw on a closely related forum, a picture from jdowell, where he's got the little flint holder, as well. that would be pretty nice.

not sure if it's worth paying to have one custom made, but maybe if they're not too much.

i did some brief searching, but it turned up nothing. i'm sure the experts here know more than me. so, please... any info is helpful.

Am fairly certain Eric at On-Scene Tactical has a sheath for the F-1; very reasonable and highly recommended. Can be adjusted for vertical, canted or horizontal carry.

The sheath was made by Survival sheath systems. They have a forum in the maker's section. It was $50 and well worth it. Tek-loks are awesome!

The F-1 is easily the best fixed blade I have owned. I have owned customs and many esteemed knives. The sheath zytel sucks. But when you get a great knife buy a great sheath. It is well worth it. Kydex is great, SSS was fast and way better than any kydex i have owned before.

anyway, yea those are definitely worth looking into. so i did. you say that sheath in the picture is from SSS? i looked up the survival sheath over there, and it doesn't like like that. is yours just minus the nylon?

is all of his stuff custom or are they pre-made? i'm emailing him as well, but...just wondering.

i'd like one with horizontal carry, but with an added little spot for a firesteel, ideally.

You have to search under belt sheaths.
