Does anyone have an estimate of when the Dominator and Aftermath are likely to ship? Last I heard they were both expected some time this month. Are they both still on schedule? Are there actual dates yet?

Inquiring minds want to know! Oh, and those of us with pre-orders in too. :D

My guess and it is strictly a guess is that nothing is going till after blade. Just sit back and suffer like the rest of us

Bob,
There are some new requirements regarding California knife laws and folders that we are re-enginnering a few small details of the knife to meet. This has pushed back initial release a few weeks. We are hoping to start shipping the first AFTERMATH's within a couple of weeks. Dominators to follow shortly afterwards. I'll update as I get more info.

Thanks for your interest!

Will, thanks for the update!

I am curious about the details of what's being changed. Any chance you could enlighten us?

yes, what changes are being made?

Yes, I would also like to know what changes are being made to the Dominator to meet California restrictions.

I have had one on pre-order for quite awhile and I don't live in California.

Will Will Will, we have people driving us crazy for them! Can't wait! Paul

Will, I'd love to hear which laws exactly you're making changes for. I'm taking a guess that it has something to do with making sure you don't run afoul of auto laws.

We never did get any responses on this one, so I thought I'd try reviving it. :)

Are there any updated ship dates? Would anyone care to tell us what is being changed and why?

why will won't answer is worrysome. i'm starting to think i should pass on this model.

Will is in Prague, CZ republic, without a computer.

I believe he told me that they would be trying to ship knives out by the Blade Show.

Why would you pass on buying a knife because your bulletin board question wasn't answered in a timely fashion???

the question was raised in a couple threads weeks ago. seems like will doesn't want to answer.

i called camillus and nobody there wanted to answer either. seems fishy.

The changes will not be noticeable unless you open the knife up.

They are engineering tweaks and will only improve performance, I am told.

I saw Will in passing last week. It was a quick chat but he said something to the effect that the "tweeking" had to do with getting around being classified as a gravity knife in CA. The difference is minimal and being only a handful of people have even seen one - you wouldn't even recognize the change. Very SMALL change. Now I've got everyone confused!

I have the same feeling a Simple6. It seems a little fishy to me. Will posts “We have made a few internal changes to the design to better comply with new California knife laws” http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=254501 .
And now in this post the knife law is a “gravity knife” law. I am sure that California has always (or at least sense the early 90’s when I moved here and started paying attention to California law) considered a gravity knife illegal and falling under the switchblade law.
As far as I know there are no new knife laws at all, much less something about a gravity knife, being considered here in California. If I am wrong please let me know so that I do not violate this law with any knife that I currently own.

I all ready have a reluctance to buy an assisted knife (I was one of the people that asked if the spring could be removed on the Dominator) and this is not getting me over the hump.
