Any ideas for a good tackl box knife

a good way to cut fishing line is with nail clippers (cutting excess line after you tie the hook or other lure to your line)
they are nice and small.

or maybe a Swiss army knife.

I carry a yellow mini Ritter Grip. It is a great fishing knife. It flips open and shut one handed with such ease and is a great slicer. The axis lock is perfect for fishing as you usually have only one hand.

sClippers are nice but they dull quick. The best thing for braid is a good sharp knife. Backup is a yellow H1 Ladybug. Yellow is easy to find if you drop it.

... A buck fillet knife for when your eating what you catch.

I keep a Leatherman multitool in my tackle box. It comes in handy for cutting out fishhooks, crimping lead splitshot, and just about anything else.

I also keep a pair of long nosed pliers and a spare pair of scissors. Throw in a cheap Rapala fillet knife and you're set. :D

the only tool i have in my box. its cheap light and usefull. one handed opening for knifes, spring assisted pliers, its everything you need and less than 40 bucks and comes with a sheath.

i feel like with some of these suggestions most of the people that posted dont even fish.... who has rooms for more knives and gadgets than bait and tackle?

the only thing i can say is it does rust but for me im not concern with it since its cheap beat up tool, it doesnt have to look pretty

All good advice in the answers!
A Leatherman and a stainless Mora works well for me, but the custom Fällkniven F2 in my avatar is the favorite.

Martiini fillet knives are also popular.

Stainless Mora or an H1 by Spyderco shoulddo you just fine

back when i was younger and lived in PA i would carry this

ya its illegal, at the time i didnt know but it saved my hide more than once

For salt water I would get an H1 spyderco everytime. Salt water can rust the best stainless steels. For fresh water anything should work long as you keep it dry. Good stainless shouldnt rust alot in feshwater.
Axis benchmade is nice because of how easy it it to operate one handed when you have a pole or fish in the other hand. They have an H2O griptilian in orange for more corrosion resistance
