Any ideas how old this head is?

Just finished restoring an old Stanley framing axe but I have no idea how old it is. Felt awfully old from the amount of rust on the head though.

I've got a neighbor with some old Stanley catalogs. Next time I see him I'll see if the catalogs have your hatchet in them.

Just finished restoring an old Stanley framing axe but I have no idea how old it is. Felt awfully old from the amount of rust on the head though.

This is a half hatchet, and I believe it would most certainly be older than the 80's when some of this stuff was secretly being imported.

Stanley Half Hatchet No. 22 appears on page 162 of the Stanley Tools Catalog No. 34 [1958].
