Have you been up to Frazier Park? It's about an hour north of L.A. looks really pretty this time of year, and is pretty secluded. Also, there are a few places in Ventura County that are pretty close, but still not crowded. Still pretty cold at night though, good practice for winter skills. Lots of streams right now too.

There's a thread in the Hoodlums forum... I believe it is in...

It is from folks in California who are working up a trip. You can also post your interests in a trip there and you will surely meet a bunch of folks who live there and know the mountains. Several of the folks are planning a trip in July to practice skills and explore our old stomping grounds.

Duh, forgot about that, and I'm the one who posted it! I'm going tomorrow with Christopher Nyerges up in the Pasadena area. It's my first one, but I heard he's a great teacher. Should be fun.

If you're in So. Cal, there is no one better than Christopher Nyerges! He's great. Met him in Sacto. once, and he came over and spent the night at my place (Sonoma Co.), we talked for hours.

Please say hello to him for me, and have a great hike.
