This is in the esophaugus (sp) it feels like heartburn or acid reflux . It almost feels like a tear that is occasioally being touched by acid . I,ll belch (scientific term) and it will worsen momentarily and then be much better for a while . As a separate yet proabably linked event I started to salivate like Pavlov,s lab assistant . If you guys have just eaten don,t read further . Its the kind of salivation that you get before you vomit . Copious and thin . No other indication of needing to vomit . I,ve got my annual in two days . (No its not performance anxiety ! L:O:L)

I took an antacid today as there is a dull ache like something trying to heal itself . I have tried sipping milk which used to do wonders for me when I had an upset stomach . No relief . As I said Its a temp situation which is proabably brought on by eating . I,ve cancelled the taco supper and am going to have something bland .

That sounds like gastric reflux to me. I've got it as well.

What helped me: cutting down on alcohol, more exercise, healthier eating in general. Spicy foods don't bother me in the least.

I am not a doctor and I recommend that you see yours. He or she will be able to make a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. I'm just some guy on the internet giving advice. Medical issues aren't worth playing around with. See your doctor.

(And if it is GR, no, it won't get better on its own, and yes, it can get a lot worse if not treated.)

I,m almost thinking ulcer myself . If you can get one in the esophaugus .
It feels like there is something sore that is being irritated by acid . Yep Dave if I get another doozer like last night I,m gonna hit the emergency room . If not tuesday will do . Thanks

Assuming that you can buy over the counter Prilosec up there try getting a box and take a double dose for a few days and see if you get relief. Most OTC stuff requires a double dose to get the full effect of what the prescription dose is.
I've also got GR and although Aciphex works best for me I can't afford the script so Prilosec is second best.

Hi, I'm Jerry and I've got gastrix reflux, sleep apnia and bi-polar disorder as well as AADD, myopia, scars from heart bypass and gall bladder removal but most of all I only have four HI khukuri. I try to fight it, but every time I see a post from Auntie Yangdu I break out in a cold sweat and my hands start to shake.

Kevin, what does the Doc say? I really don't think you should be diagnosed over the internet. Some of your description sounds like esophageal variecies,(sic) and I'd be more comfortable if you'd see a physician.

I,m off to see him tuesday . Its just you guys are so good I thought I,d throw something at you . I,m still at the ulcer idea .

I strongly suggest you go to see a Naturopathic Doctor. They will take a good long look at your diet and health and probably suggest natural non-drug remedies. I have been helped immensly over the years by ours when MD's just scratched their heads and got out the prescription pads. He knows alot more about anatomy and physiology and healing than our GP does!

Ask your doc what he/she thinks about going to see an ND--alot of progressive docs are going to lectures taught by ND's on a variety of medical issues.

Good luck!

My Doctor is the most ordinairy best doctor I,ve ever had . he doesn,t think he does anything special and I know he is great . He is always willing to talk .

Have you been taking any anti malarial drugs? If so some of them cause severe pain in the esophagus even after you terminate use, I cant quite remember the name of the one I was on (maybe deoxycycline?) but after we discontinued use my girlfreinds throat got really bad, so bad that for a little while she couldnt drink water. Aparently the stuff eats away at the lining of the esophogus, doctor didnt tell me this when it was perscribed (aprently it can also give you ulsers).

Son I been perforated by more of those little bloodsuckers than is right for man or beast . I haven,t come down with anything though , except for an aversion to D:E:E:T !

Darn it bamboo , I didn,t see that acupuncture in the corner only the rest of your post ! L:O:L

B:T:W: Acupuncture will reattach your foot if you use 3 inch nails ! L:O:L

Talk to the doc. If he doesn't know, get a referral to a gastroenterologist. Could be nothing. Could be something treatable. You just don't know, and they can help you with that. Other than that, keep a good diet and exercise. That is the common remedy to help most problems. Except reattaching feet, of course. :)

You should probably get checked up - Especially if you develop difficulty swallowing (not pain, but actual difficulty) or a droopy eye lid. such things are indicators of a really bad thing.
