For a place to hold a Winter Gathering? Spring is too damn far away!

It is a little south west from you but Lake Evergreen in Normal, IL is a really nice park. You can fish from a lot of the camping spots but there is also a pretty big grassy area by the loading docks. It has grilles and a shore line to fish from.

The problem with McKinley is if it snows, they close it because of that road being so narrow and curvey.

And the extreme speeds allowed there too!

If we went there we might want to do a shelter closer to the parking so we could cart a bunch of fire-wood in for our fire.

I can see what I could wrangle up for firewood.

I would also be ok with a little driving if that is what it took - Indiana - wherever would be ok for me.
