Does anyone have any info on a Benchmade Mini Ruckus? I am seriously thinking about ordering one and would appreciate any experience you might have had.

Thanks
Mark

I have owned two mini rukus, both plain edge and satin finish. It is a very tough knife like any other benchmade. Has very thick liners, and very good slicing blade. However the handle was just a bit too thick for me. And the pocket clip would bend and tweak under my hand with a medium to hard grip. Good knife but not refined enough for me. Totally awesome design though. And chops very well too.

The mini-rukus is a very solid well built knife that can stand up to most any task. It isnt all that mini, but that is a good thing in my opinion. It would make a excellant edc for multipuple uses. Good for around the house or in the wild.

You might want to try the search function... there is alot written about both the mini-rukus and full size versions.

I'd go with the search function idea also. There is a LOT on both the 610 Rukus and 615 Mini-Rukus. As for me, I'm a definate Rukus kinda' guy! I don't have a 615, But I do Have 2 full size Rukus knives. I would like to get a 6150 Mini-Axis-Auto some day.:D

Thanks guys,
For the info and the search suggestion. I have seen soo much negative about the search function that I didn't even try it. But after your suggestions, I gave it a shot and it worked fine. I found as much info as I was hoping for and went ahead and ordered a Mini Rukus. It shoulld be here next week.

nothing mini about the mini-rukus!!!

After you get it, I'd like to hear a "review" as well.................I've been "eyeballing" one myself.

I just bought the Mini Rukus with a S30V blade and it is one of my best knives ever. The blade opens smooth and is tight. It is very sharp. The knife design fits well in my hand and I do not think my fingers will slip forward.

My only complaint is the pocket clip. The clip does not keep the knife a snug as other knives I have and I am afraid it will fall out, even though it rides deep in the pocket.

This was no problem for me because I removed the clip anyway. I was looking for a knife I could carry without advertising and this design is great. I am seriously considering the Rukus as a hunting knife next year.

I do not think you will be disappointed with this knife.

and most important to me...Country of origin: USA. MV out!

Your worry about the knife coming out of pocket is justified.
I have both a full size and a mini. The mini has departed my left rear
twice now unexpectedly. I have removed the clip and tweaked it hoping for a tighter grip, but to no avail. THe clip is just so long that it cannot be tweaked enough for a tight grip. Admittedly it has not come out when carried left front. But i usually have a Surefire U2 flash light left front, and my left knife usually goes to the back.
So far it is the only knife I have ever owned that just will not stay in pocket to my satisfaction.
Other than that it is a nice knife.
BTW, the large one has not come out of my pocket unless I took it out.

CBXR,

Try removing the clip and with a file, apply some striations to the underside of the clip that will make contact with your pocket fabric. (Another option is to dip the end of the clip in some of that rubber that's sold to replace or add grip and insulation to tools.) With the increased tightness of the clip (you added more bend) together with the added striations to grip the fabric, the chance that you'll lose the knife now are probably pretty minimal. Good luck.

I personally dont own a Ruckus, but I held one and it felt like a nice in my hand and felt sturdy. The knife, like all BM's is nice and consists of good materials, and good craftsmanship. (made in US;))
