I just saw this in the new Knives Illustrated my father brought back from Canada for me (isn't he thoughtful). Does anyone have any information on it? Or, for that matter, know where i can get one?

Its been out for a couple of weeks. It is a nice piece and it is incredibly thin compared to other Axis locks knives. The knife is very handsome but it is aluminum and scratches very easily. It is a good knife for your watch pocket if you plan to carry it. I got mine at gpknives.com.

With 6061 T-6 hard coat 3 anodized aluminum scales, I wouldn't exactly say the knife will scratch easily, but where there's a will there's a way.

James, you'll find the knife to be suprisingly light, thin, well contoured, and fast! Good choice.

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

Stompy, maybe I am hard on my knives but BM aluminum scratches very easily to me. By easily, i mean that if one puts the knife in your pocket with keys etc., it will scratch.

There are two on auction at eBay.
I like the reverse tanto blade.

The guy at the local knife store brought one to my house for me to look at.

I thought he said it was a pre-pro version (=combo edge), but it was plain edged first pro. version. Happy Joy! I bought it. Here's a pic of it with 2 others for comparison.

What gives with that sweet red-handled Mini-AFCK? Very nice.

I picked up a 940 Osborne about two weeks ago. It is slimmer in profile (thickness-wise) than other Axis models, which makes it slightly more pocketable I suppose. This is done by thinning the 410 stainless liners somewhat, which probably compromises strength a tad, but I've stopped propping up my car with my knife to change the oil, etc.

. Ergonomics are great, and the reinforced tip is a great pressure-cutter, as with leather or wood. Good knife overall, but not good enough to kick the Mini-Axis out of the pocket.

Professor.

How is the quality control on these 940s. I really like BM designs but have reservations regarding the QC. I think I want a 940.

Thanks Professor. It's a red G-10 project. 1/8" G-10 slabs, full length G-10 spacer, and thin brass washers. Too bad my drill was out of alignment when I drill the holes.

I need to redo the whole thing one of these days.
