Hi there,
I found this forum doing a search. I just purchased a Kukri Knife here in Singapore in a Salvation Army internet charity auction. The description said '5th Gurkha Regiment Kukri knife'. I liked the look of it and bought it for $110 Singapore Dollars (63 USD). I am wondering if any of you could tell me anything about it. Being new to this forum I do not know how to post a photo or a link but you can find it at this address. http://lycosasia.surfingbananas.com/scripts/osa/ViewPage.exe?templateName=item_form.htx&itemNumber=591771

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes! Of course! It is a Khukuri ... look like a Salyan model to me ... it has a blood groove which looks similar to the one at The HI Logo Khukuri. That much I can help you ... I guess Pakcik Bill, Jim & Ray might have more sound infos to offer!

NEPAL HO!

Looks like a Kothimora type - very popular in the regiments as a presentation model. It looks genuine judging by the quality of the handle. I'd date it at about WWII to Korea. But you'd better ask the military historians to see the history for that unit.
