My great aunt gave me her full storage locker when she moved into a nursing home. Going through some of my late great uncle's things and came across this old knife. I feel it is very old because of the wood handle and bits and pieces I could find while researching on internet. It is a J. A.HENCKELS knife and at base of blade under the symbol and name it says the GERMANY. I was up most of the night but could not find any record of this knife. It also has a jagged teeth like thumb hole which i found interesting. I am intrigued by this very cool knife and would love some info on it. Sincerely, Erica.

I opened a free account at Photobucket and upload my photos there. Then I copy the IMG code they provide and paste it into my post here.

If you hit "Reply With Quote" at the bottom of this post, you can see what the code should look like.

the jagged thumb hole sounds like a matchstriker thumb notch. Henckel's is a famous kitchen cutlery company and at one point also sold pocket knives, though I have no idea on dates etc.
