I purchased a great little custom lockback folder made by Vernon Hicks from Arkansas. Does anyone have any information on this maker?

Hey, I've seen that knife before... ;)

I picked this one up a short time ago and have carried it extensively. It's been a great piece. Nice walk and talk, excellent fit and finish and great cutting geometry.

Mine was made in approximately 1979, and Mr Hicks passed away in the mid 90's from what I understand.

Would love to see pictures of your knife if you can take some.

Thanks for your response to my inquiries about Vernon Hicks. The photo of your knife is great, Mr. Hicks did nice work. Yes, it is my understanding that he passed away in 1993. I do know that he was a Arkansas maker and he made both lock back folders and fixed blade hunters.
I purchased my knife through Nordic Knives, it is a lockback folder and has micarta bolsters and some really nice file work along the spine and blade. I was told that Vern was not a "Big Name" maker and his work never sold for much money but I really enjoy the knife I own and use it on a regular basis. Through some other responses I see that Mr. Hicks was involved in the Guild and that there is a Vernon Hicks Award for bladesmithing but I have not been able to find out anything else about him.
Sorry I do not have the asbility to post a picture.
