Any information on this gaucho knife? Thank you!

Looks like there are some markings on the blade, but they are impossible to read without more detailed photos.

No worries, just take some detailed ones. Herder being a German knife maker of primarily kitchen knifes, I'll venture that someone took a Herder chef's knife blade and put a handle on it, with a sheath to match. I'd be surprised if the whole knife is an original Herder.

This is the Herder homepage: https://www.herder-solingen.de/ but while I don't see an English language option, most browsers these days will translate it for you.

It is my understanding that German manufacturers made such knives for export to South America, so I doubt it is a mash-up.
You should re-post your question in the “Traditionals” sub-forum. There is a whole thread dedicated to such knives there.

Many blades from Solingen were exported to S. America over the years, and then finished by numerous different knife makers, so it's hard to guess. But maybe someone more knowledgeable in the Trad forum might know.

Here's the thread referenced above:

Just from what I have read in the gaucho thread in the traditionals section, German knives were shipped there, some are well used and sought after for the quality of steel. It is a good read, found a few old videos online about someone sharpening one, I think it was in Spanish, but a good video.

Thank you so much everyone, what a wonderful forum! I’m going to look into all of these suggestions to learn more about this knife. I appreciate your help so much!
