Any infos on this Buck 110?

Hi. The following 110 was offered to me and I think about buying it.

I just wonder how many of those were made and why. Can anyone help?

Morning Pony, Good looking knife. I have the 110GN/cat# 8096 Folding Hunter Grey (1991) that has the stock blade. I have not been able to find either version in the catalogs (early 90s) nor the special projects list. The star in your handle scales seems like something added post production? And the sheath would be from the late nineties, as evidenced by the Mountain logo. Surely Buck would have record of the knives. Perhaps a call to Post Falls would uncover more information.
