Good, bad, and ugly about this Foley 355 grinder? I don't know anything about them and I ended up with this thing. Is it worth keeping to use in knife work? Or sell it? Thanks for input.

I believe those are really only good for sharpening straight blades (jointer, planer, chisels, etc...), so probably not a whole lot of application for knife making. Probably better suited for woodworkers, or if you sharpen specific tooling on a regular basis.

I suppose you might be able to adapt it to grind in nail nicks for folders if you make some additional fixturing.

Yes, IIRC they were from Belsaw-Foley and were commercial flat blade grinding machines. Great for planer blades and such, not made to do knives.

Mt Cow - Shop Talk is not for buying and selling. If you wish to get with someone about some equipment, sent them a direct message. BTW, I found several for sale online with a search.
marjtreff - I did a simple online search for "Foley 355 manual" and came up with lots of them.

Thanks! Appreciate the help.

Poke around the rest of the site and you'll likely find some more manuals, as there's a few variations in the manufacturer index for Foley, Foley-Belsaw, etc...
Thanks Drew. I've been on Keith Rucker's site a lot! Great information there. Currently emailing with SharpeningSupplies.com about this machine. I have the 350000 manual, but my machine is different. If I get anything useful, I'll post it here.
