Any input on the BM Model 111H2O folder?

We could just put a google search bar at the top of every page and then no one would ever have to answer a thread again! It will be great! Of coarse there is the normal search function which works better than Google IMO.

I don't have one but need to pick one up before scalloping season starts in 3 weeks. Assuming there isn't an oil slick everywhere yet. The handle is the same as the Rift which is my favorite knife. I got to handle one this past weekend and nothing bad jumped out at me although I had forgot about that fail thread. The blade shape wasn't my favorite but it seemed like it would be a good knife for the salt water. I will try to write a review when I pick one up but that doesn't help you now. It would be nice to have some feedback on the blade steel and how it holds an edge and how stain resistance it is but I'm sure it is good if Benchmade put it out.

Let us know how it is if you pick one up. I will have to get a jar of salt water and leave it in for a couple weeks to test it out once I get one.

I've had one for about two months or so and like it. I read a post (can't remember where) that someone was having problems with the size of the thumbstud, the uneven sharpeneing of the blade, that it was too rough clipping it on and off the pocket and I think the blade being off center but my blade is perfect and I have no trouble getting it on and off my pocket. I do agree that while wearing gloves the thumbstud could be a little larger but over all I like the knife and the thumbstud if I thought it was that bad, could be replaced with an aftermarket thumbstud.

I just think that the other post I read was an overall bad knife that could have and would have been replaced if sent in.

I've had this knife for a few days and do like it. The clip is fine, not hard to get out of the pocket, to solve the problem I've read about it looks like Benchmade left a little gap betwixt the clip and the scales on the side of the knife so there is not as much pressure there when used on thinner material clothing. The thumb stud also works just dandy, even with medium weight work gloves on. The only thing that's slightly off on the one I have is the Axis Lock is much stiffer then I'd like, it might be intentionally stiff for use on/in the water or it's because of the coated omega springs. Hopefully it fully breaks in and will not be a long term issue. The blade is a usable shape, the tip is prominent enough to carve with but at the same time it's blunt enough that it won't puncture skin easily, which is a good thing if you're using this knife for it's intended purpose. There is a large flat section of blade, good for shaping things and enough belly toward the tip to open things like boxes.
This is my first post to this forum, hopefully it's helpful to at least one person.

Here's a review of the H2O grip posted here not too long ago.

I believe that's the review you're mentioning.
