Any interest in a North Texas Busse campout?

Hi, just thought I would see if anyone has any interest in a north texas area get together campout this summer?

Family friendly group campout type get together and maybe a group meal.


anyone in the area interested?

Dallas north or Amarillo north? I could do Dallas/Fort Worth area but not Amarillo. Sounds like a great idea. I hope something comes of it.

Dallas/ft worth area, somewhere within comfortable driving area of that. Did a group get together at Meridian state park and its got some nice areas for it and a nice trail to walk around. Unfortunatly the camp ranger is a total nazi so I was thinking possibly the Dinosaur valley park at Glenn rose. There are nice area's to camp and hike there too.
 
I've never been there. I just watched a youtube video on the park and it looks like it'd be fun for the kids. I'm game depending on how the dates fall around my work schedule. Hopefully we can generate some more interest.
 
for dates I'm thinking sometime in late may or june, a weekend. My kids loved the park when they were little and like camping a lot now.

Ohio isn't that far Garth whats a 1000 mile or so drive to camp for a weekend?
 
1000 mile drive i would have to stay longer than just a weekend. I would love to take a couple weeks to explore Texas.

November is the best time to explore Texas, the summers here are just too brutal. Wouldn't want you going back to Ohio talking about how you'll never come back again. We're still waiting for the traveling trunk show.

I used to live in Aubrey just east of Denton about five years ago when the Barnett Shale Feild was being drilled around Glen Rose. I made alot of sales calls to the drilling companies and it is a really great rustic area. I live in south east Louisiana so it would be about 10 hours for me. Would east Texas off of I-20 at one of the many lakes be an option? I could probably swing that in about six or seven hours and bring a boat to fish.
 
If I was in the area I would love to, that's a great idea though. May start a thread for the Tampa Bay area. Although its not as fun camping here than in Maryland my home town, we have this island that we camp at down here but I miss the Blue Ridge MTs

The campout should be open to all knife folks, and you get to play with busse that we bring. I don't really care exactly where we have it, just so that the most people can show up.
 
Are you talkin a family affair with kids and puppies or more of a knife, whiskey, cigar kinda gig?

Glen Rose is a great area for this type of Shindig. Lots of places to camp down by the river. Can't say I miss Texas much though, sorry. (pretty hard to beat CO)
