These four firesteels are made from handmade desert camouflage micarta with paper micarta liners (all one piece). This stuff is like a brick. Well made in a press and hard as a rock.

The two in back have brass lanyard tubes and will go for 26 shipped. The two in front are solid and will go for 24 shipped.

Buy two - and get them for 38 shipped.

All four have 5/16th by 3.100 inch long.

Those look really nice!

Can I ask - how was the process of making the micarta? I've seen several videos but always wondered about it.....

You have to understand how the resin is going to react with the fabric you are using. The jeans seems to take up a lot of resin and needs more hardener than other stuff. Also, the weather effects cure time a LOT.

But with some trial and error it isn't bad at all.

TF, I may be interested in trading into a 3/8" firesteel that matches or contrasts one of my knives. . . PM or email me sometime.

Great looking firesteels! Any chance you would be making some in black G10?

Sorry brother - no Black G-10 right now.

Been making them out of deer and caribou antler as of late.

I will post some pics.

Hey Tal,
Is it too late for me to order the smaller antler fire steel and a striker?
I'll PM you too.

I will take the larger deer antler (3/8"?) firesteel if it is still available.

TF:

Do you mind if I ask what type of adhesive you use to secure the fire steel in the handle ?

Thanks,

Peter
