Any Interest in the return of the Emerson Persian

I heard rumors mentioned that if enough people sparked an interest in a former-production Emerson Knife that Emerson might do a limited re-production run of what-ever knife, in this case the Persian Tactical!

Has anyone else heard this or would agree that this might be possible? I know it's ALWAYS Business(ie; what's good for profits on the manufacture's side of the house) but I believe Emerson loves making knives just as much as they love the people/fan-base they serve!

Would anyone else like to have a Emerson Persian Tactical Folder in their collection, or is it just me?

If we all contact Emerson and show enough interest, we might be able to acquire this Legendary Piece of Craftsmanship from a Legendary Knife Maker!

Would anyone else be interested?

I absolutely would be interested if it had a 4 inch or slightly shorter blade as i cant carry anything longer.

I totally understand because State Laws for concealment of knives!

Emerson should re-produce it in Original Form as well as a "Mini" version for better carry consideration!

Thank You Noodlefish for your response!

If one came out for production again, I would do anything I could to get the money together to get one.

I say Emerson should come out with a new one in a different steel, maybe D2?, sometime soon.

I have always wanted one with a satin blade instead of the tigerstripe ones. I think they look dorky.

I had one. I sold it because it wasn't waved. If a waved P-Tac came out, I'd slap my momma to get one.

i've heard if enough folks want one, and write in, they might do a run, they are not, officially, disco'd IIRC, they just arent making them at this time, but i bet if some folks wrote him wanting them.....

i like 'em a lot, have had a few of them, still have a ECA P-tac, i dont think they would look right waved though, imho it would ruin the lines, ya can wave them with the thumbdisc anyway, with practice.

anyway, imho some just look better not waved, the CQC8 and '6, but other than those 3 i do like it.

if he does make a run it will be in 154CM just like most every other production and custom(other than a few here and there) so its not likely to be D2/M2/S30V/etc., he seems to like the 154 and is happy with it, i know i cant complain, i guess it would be cool to make a run with one of the super steels but its no big deal to me, never have had any problems with the 154.

they actually had some in january on the emerson website but i guess they sold out quick, I actually bought one but I should have bought two

Thank You everyone for your responses and views, it was greatly appreciated!

I contacted Emerson Knives and someone replied back saying they were going to forward my concerns of the Re-Production of the Persian Tactical Folder to Mr. Emerson(whether it actually gets forward to him and he takes the request seriously is a matter of destiny &/or luck), I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and money on "Stand-By" just in case the "Opportunity Door" does opens!

The Saga Continues!

Thank You all once again!

I submitted a plea to the Emerson folks for a run of Persians last year soon after the website proclaimed "unavailable". After a second time I was told that there was a run of Persians planned in the near future...within the next couple of months, at that time.

I got on the order list, and received an email when the run was reaching completion. I confirmed my interest, and soon had my favorite knife of all time.

Now, once again, the Emerson website says the Persian is unavailable, so I do feel lucky. But sometimes you have to make your own luck, and I suggest all those who wish to possess a Persian get on the phone and make your desires known.

Earnest is busy, but very willing to listen to those of us who keep him that way.

And yes, I'd be interested in a Mini and maybe a satin finish version.
Maybe I'll get on the phone again too!
