I'm looking to make something new for 2009. There's alot of interest in the smaller EDC neck/pocket carry knives lately. I'd like to take the popular PSK design and give it a new blade shape. I'm thinking more utility, straight line cutting and carving. My idea is to go with a sheepsfoot blade of thinner stock, 3/32" to be exact. Stay with the 1" width and 6" overall length. Any thoughts on this?

Hell yes.

I think the Sheep's Foot design is undervalued. I like a Wharncliffe even more because of the useful point. Could you create a kind of hybrid Sheepcliffe?

I am interested in a wharnecliffe/sheepsfoot design for use on the Bay etc, a PSK size would be great. One in CPM154 or 154CM sounds good.

I`m in the middle of a pocket size wharncliff right now. I don`t want you to think I`m copying you, I guess great minds just think alike. :D

I absolutely think you should give the wharncliffe a go. It's my favorite blades on all my folders and I don't see them on too may fixed blades these days.

Go for it Scott. I have 2 6" overall warncliffs on the table right now. I like em better than I ever thought! 3/32" too :)

Will do - You have seen them in the rough I think.

I like that a lot! I have a drawing that looks almost identical to that and I was going to make, but I needed to finish my current batch first.
