Any issues with BM Crooked Rivers?

I've never had a pick and choose materials knife from BM.
I do know that BM often has issues with fit and finish (wonky blade centering or axis lock wonkiness, etc.)
Fortunately I've had a few BMs that were spot on in fit and finish but I'd have to say they weren't typical from what I've seen.
Anyway, does BM give a little extra attention/love for the custom builds?
The Crooked River has caught my eye for sure.
Just fishing for input.
Thanks.

I really, really like the Crooked River (had one, got seriously damaged - no fault of the knife or BM) and the Mini Crooked River (still have one, a Custom Shop model). I agree they are some of the best knives Benchmade has put out. But I love my Grip HG 550-1 G10 and my Rift 950 just as much, or more.

I don't recall ever having had a significant problem with any of my Benchmade knives - that wasn't due to serious damage that would have effected ANY knife. Just lucky I guess.

Not sure about the customs, but the crooked and mini crooked river are some of the best knives Benchmade has put out. Fact.

Havent had the chance to try a rift, but the 550-1 is a crazy good knife too. I like the mini CR enough to check out the custom shop, but im still resisting because of that price.

My Crooked River has up, down, left and right blade play that wont go away no matter what. It also came embarrassingly dull. Knife was purchased new from an authorized dealer.

I bought a crooked river brand new about 6 months ago. I know it was in perfect condition but i was/am still somewhat a knife noob so I never really looked at the centering, f&f, lockup etc. I know that right now there is definitely some slight horizontal blade play. Personally I really enjoy benchmade and would recommend them to most people but then again that’s mostly preference. If I can contribute any personal experience, I have definitely used that blade for a large variety of tasks over the last 6 months (nothing too abusive) and it is still shaving sharp
