hey guys, i just ordered my spyderco karambit from newgraham knives online and it will be here tomorrow via UPS. i am very excited about getting it. i have trained with this exact model, but until last night, i didnt have the funds to buy my own. now that is a thing of the past, come tomorrow. i was wondering if anyone else owned the karambit and what your thoughts were on it.

LOL, man everyone says that, i swear! LOL

interesting fact, i was told from a rep. at NGK that the knife was designed to be held with the blade coming out from the bottom of your hand.. i thought that was interesting.

if you do a search, you will find a thread on the karambit where I also contributed.

you trained with this model?? and you did not know this???

yes that is correct. i did not know it was originally created to be held this way. it seems that if i were cutting crops i would grab the crop with my left hand and bend the stalk over and cut it holding the Karambit the traditional way.

I would call New Graham and have them send you at least double the amount of band-aids they normally send.

I got one but my wife likes to carry it. Just don't do any stupid things with this knife and you'l be fine.

...and we laugh later, when you tell us you ran out of band aids.:p

I still laught at it a little years after first getting a shipment from New Graham. Friends get a kick out of it too, especially reading the message on the dispenser. My backpack has a small pocket just perfect for carrying the thing around. Definately one of the more useful extras to include.
