Any Karambits?

Aloha ALL,

Be advised that Boker Germany is working on the 'biner issue. However, some models have already been sold, minus the clip and the weak 'biner...on the plus side of this is the fact that they are "coolectables" now.:D

God bless and thanks guys!

PS: One for you Th232:

Does it have a pocket clip?

I just received mine today!!! No pocket clip. Maybe in the next production run.

I posted pics on the main "knife" forum showing the Boker along with an Emerson Combat Karambit and 5.11 Tarani Journeyman Karambit.

I just learned of this knife today from a Knifecenter mailing. It looks great and is priced right - I was adding two of them to my cart when I found out it doesn't have a pocket clip. :( The carabiner idea is cool, but no clip is a deal breaker for me. Darn...

Make your own pocket clip, or order a premade one and put it on. Plenty of them around.

I just received one today from Monstronix.com, it is definitely bigger than I expected, compared to the other 9 CLB knives I own it's a monster.

I like it though, and the spring clip on mine seems to work fine. I'm not sure what the exact problem is on some.

Regards,

Les.

I believe the biner was becoming disconnected from the two holes that keeps it in place on some of the karambits.

Mahalo Bimmer1,

I GREATLY appreciate the fact that you still ordered one KNOWING about the 'biner problem.

Um, Isheldon, Bimmer1 is correct regarding this "issue" the first run of Chadrambits have. See, the 'biner end that inserts into the G10 side does NOT go into the steel liner, only into the G10 scale. That being said, if you do a lot of Karambit moves, the G10 *may* wear down, creating a groove where the 'biner inserts...making it impossible for the 'biner to stay in place.:(

It also may create the same "groove" with constant use of the 'biner...

However, IF this should happen, you can send your Chadrambit back to Boker and they will replace it. Whew...

God bless and mahalo everyone!

Thanks for the detailed explanation Daywalker, I checked and it appears mine doesn't go through to the liner on the G10 side.

It isn't that big of a deal though. I'll just order another when they are corrected and more widely available here in the lower 48.

It's nice to have one to play with now.

Best regards,

Les.

Mahalo Isheldon,

Your "tolerance" is greatly appreciated.:o Just play safely, okay?

BTW, did yours come with an Allen Wrench to remove the stud?

God bless!

No, mine didn't come with anything in the box but the knife, no allen wrench.

Regards,

Les
