I'm in my second year of knife making. so far everything i've learned has been from books or online. I've come a long way but i'd really like to get some real life input. I've found several knife enthusiast but no actual makers in the southern Maryland area. So if there are any makers out there who wanna share some knowledge or just talk knives, i'm all ears!

Welcome to Bladeforums.
This search engine will find all sorts of info for you. Like the one you just asked.

There are guilds, hammer-ins, and lots of knifemakers in that area. The problem is you asked a question but didn't give us the info we need to answer it fully.
By filling out your profile we will know where in Maryland you are. There might be a maker in your town, but he wouldn't know because the info isn't there. The other info, like age, hobbies, occupation, etc. helps us give more tailored advice.

The Central Maryland Blacksmith's Guild has lots of knifemakers as well as classes.
The Fire and Brimstone Hammer-in is a super event with hundreds of great knifemakers and demos.

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to get my profile info squared away. I'm new to the forum and still gettin the hang of things

I am in Woodlawn/Ellicott city area. BGCM has some knife makers and so does the guild of the Potomac near Severn.

Ok cool, I'm in Chesapeake beach in Calvert county. Just been lookin for an experienced maker to maybe learn a few things. So far the only people who have seen my knives have been friends and family, and of course they're gonna say its awesome. But I haven't had a legit knife person check out my work who can give me some honest feedback

Larry Nowicki in Baltimore, Scott Gossman in Hazard County, Mr Willey of Willey knife shop in Greenwood DE.

Sam, I work in Woodlawn. Where about is the Chesapeake Forge meeting?

Sorry KT I didn't see your question until a min ago. I'm working with a really great guy in Waldorf MD.
Google Old Pine Forge. Keith will help you in any way he can.
