I am going to be heading to Chicago for a few days and I was wanting to know if there are any knife stores to go to while I'm there?
Thanks

From their web site:

Since 1905, Corrado Cutlery has been the City of Chicago's foremost upscale retailer of fine cutlery and gifts. The company was founded by Dominick Corrado - an Italian immigrant to the United States - who was, unfortunately, a left handed barber in the days of right-hand only barber tools! Unable to pursue his chosen career he decided to devote himself to the business of providing the Chicago barber industry with quality products (such as handmade razor strops) and sharpening services.

After opening up a small grinding shop on South Clark St. - in Chicago's central business district known as "The Loop" - Mr. Corrado plied his trade around town in his horse and buggy. Within a few years his business had grown to the point that he decided to open his first fine cutlery and gift store at 161 N. Clark St. and Corrado Cutlery has been within a block and half of this original location ever since!

Carmen Corrado (Dominick Corrado's son who, along with brother Victor Corrado, took over from their father in later years) was an early supporter of the fledgling handmade knife group - the Knifemaker's Guild - helping it to establish itself and grow into the force it is today with over 500 guild members around the world. By working with emerging names such as Bo Randall, Gil Hibben, Jimmy Lile, Bob Loveless and others Corrado Cutlery provided early exposure and enthusiasm to this art/craft form that has exploded in popularity over the years. Today, Corrado Cutlery is still proud to represent some of the world's finest handmade knifemakers including Tim Wright, Joel Ellefson, Jim Corrado (Dominick's grandson) and, of course, Randall Made Knives.

In 1998, Corrado Cutlery's flagship store will celebrate it's 50th year in it's present location at 26 N. Clark St., Chicago. Also, Corrado Cutlery operates a second store at Old Orchard Center, Skokie, IL - the Chicago area's most popular and upscale shopping center serving the prestigious North Shore area.

Visiting Chicago?
Be sure to stop by and visit our two Chicago area stores - in Chicago's downtown "Loop" business district and our new store at Old Orchard Center in Skokie. Be sure to let us know you saw us on-line!

Corrado's ok, located in the Loop (downtown) at something like 10 N. Clark St. There's also a shop just northwest of the Loop, around 800 W. Lake, I think called "Northwest Knives," that has a very large selection of production folders, several fixed blades and a few customs too.
