any knifemakers in/near omaha, nebraska

are there any knifemakers here in or near omaha, nebraska, that wouldn't mind showing me some basics on knifemaking? i am about to start trying to make my first knife, have a cheap belt sander, angle grinder, two-brick propane forge for HT. I am kind of hesitant to just 'jump in', would like to watch someone go through some of the process or give me a good set of guidelines or a how-to to get me started.

i have done a ton of reading on knifemaking and heat treating. i'm planning on using carbon steels, 10xx and maybe 5160, maybe 01. I am also planning on building a No Weld Grinder Sander.

Besides myself you could also contact Sid Suedmeier in Nebraska City at the Little Giant Shop for any help or discussion on knives.

Several Knife makers show up at the area gunshows, not aware of any strictly knife shows in the Omaha area. Good shows in Fremont, Lincoln, Bellevue and some of the other surrounding towns.
