I was wondering if anyone knows of any custom knifemakers in the Vancouver area. I have a knife that I got as a gift a 140 mm santoku. I was told it is made of Elmax. It is a very pretty knife, and I like the design, but the profile is strange. I has no distal taper and it seems to get thicker before it starts bevel down to the edge.
I am hoping to find someone who can reprofile it to a proper convex dual bevel higher up on the knife. I know I will lose some of the finish, but it is a small price to pay IMO.
