I am looking for a fixed blade EDC that is similar to a bark river bumble bee. the only thing about it i do not like is the price. the only other knife i am considering so far is the RAT izula because of its nice size and shape, but i want some sort of handles on it. if anybody knows of a knife that is similar to the bumble bee but cheaper. i would love to hear about it.
thanks in advance

I don't know pricing off hand, but I would imagine that the BRKT Pro Scalpel or BRKT Mini or Mikro Canadian would fit the bill well. I have a Pro Scalpel that I love and it's a great little knife.

Otherwise I've heard infinitely good things about the Izula, and you could just do a paracord wrap.

Take a look at Michael Morris' site for his profiler models, and make sure to check out Blind Horse Knives; especially their Frontier First patch knife and custom pocket sheath.

I love my small Barkies, but my BHK Fronteir First Patch Knife was a lucky find. As the OP is looking for, it is a remarkable knife for the price and a great value.

I've seen other mention of the pocket sheath, but can't find it on their site. Could anyone provide links or pics?

ETA: armstrong*skier, another knife that found its way to me in a trade, that has a similar size/shape/design to the BRKT Bumblebee is a DFarmer Personal. Several of his smaller designs start at $70 new, and less used. You might consider contacting him -- for half the price of a Bumblebee you could find yourself with a nice custom user from a well-regarded maker.

I was going to suggest both these as well, but assumed that if the Bumble Bee was outside what you wnted to pay, that pretty much eliminated other BRKT knives as well.

Keep an eye out here on BF's For Sale forum, I snagged my Pro Scalpel off here about a year ago for only $40, and it was practically brand new!

Check the JK knives. He has lots of great small knives. The quality is excellent.

I would take a look at the Landi PSK with slim scales. I have one on the way, and it will make an awsome EDC. My friend has one and loves it. I ordered mine to piggyback on a larger blade for field use.

i also am quite fond of the benchmade 211 activator. but its blade looks extremely thick for slicing. anybody with experience on that?
or any other knives?
thanks a lot for the recomendations
