I've got a son turning 19 soon and was wanting to get him a nice fixed blade.
He usually gets a folder for his b-day and Christmas but I was thinking of branching out this year. He's got some nice Schatt-Morgans,some Bokers and a Kershaw or two .Any comments on a Lakota Ebony Raven? Any reccomendations? Thanks.

I have had a Lakota FinWing for a number of years and it is a very fine knife.

Please take a look at Post #15 (link) in the thread Past loves/fads? for pics and description.

Lakota knives are terrific examples of blades that haven't conformed to the super steel trends. They represent a terrific value in knives regardless of your experience level. Long story short, the construction is excellent and the blade steel takes and holds a great edge for a very long time. AUS8A is easy to sharpen and maintain. Doesn't require special tools or sharpening equipment; a standard medium grit Norton or Arkansas Washita stone should cover it. He'll love it!
